For my 2020 Passion Project in Digital Design, I will make a film using bits and parts of the game "Red Dead Redemption 2." I would like to do this because I started to get into Virtual Photography, and "Red Dead Redemption 2" has been my main focus for the photographs. The idea of doing a film came from an earlier video I made on New Years Eve. I would like to expand into the concept of making films with fragments of the game. I would also like to challenge myself in making the film an emotional piece of meeting a character but already learning that the person has passed on with the words being said and the music being played. I would like to make the viewer feel a connection with the character and the surroundings in the scene.
As I am doing this project I plan on having distant shots, close shots, and interactions. I want to film from multiple perspectives, but focused on one character. I want to make this with Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects.

The American Dream is different for every person. It can be peace, freedom, money, pursuits, purposes, and so many more things. The first phrase of The American Dream came from the 1931 book, “Epic of America.” The writer of the book James Truslow Adams said, "That dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement." The American Dream also faintly shows up in The Declaration of Independence saying, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” A more recent quote from modern society today via Suze Orman states, "... where you actually get more pleasure out of saving than you do spending. It's a dream where you live below your means but within your needs. You are not spending every penny, you are not impressing people. You are living a life where you can sleep at night and you are actually happy." I agree with all of these quotes in one way or another and some parts of them inspired me to write this one, "I believe that The American Dream to me is happiness, achieving my dreams, being with my friends, and being who I truly am and to live for myself not others." Payton Welch. The collage image I made is suppose to symbolize my friends, my dream job, my inspirations, my art, and my photography as a part of my American Dream. I feel like this collage worked out really well although I used just my phone to make it. It has all of my favorite things in it and overall makes me very happy just looking at it. I have learned that making a quote really has to come from the heart. It also takes patience and finding what you really feel about a phrase such as, “The American Dream.” What really is it? Is it such a highly praised phrase or is it negative to some? Does it describe Americans as a whole or each as an individual? So many questions are formed from this phrase used for centuries now. Create-A-Thon is a school wide event invented by New Technology High School in the school year of 2018-2019. The event required students to draw art digitally and traditionally, and then put it into after effects to light it up. The art was then put into a video by the Digital Design Class with their original videos for the Napa Lighted Art Festival. It was then changed to a Global scale in the school year of 2019-2020. Before the event started, the Digital Design Class planned how the day of the event would go. They set up computers in each class the day before. They also set up light tables and drawing tablets for the students to use in order to make lighted art. The Digital Design Class also had roles for the day of the event. I was assigned to go from class to class making sure every student knew what they were doing, and if they needed help I would help them along with a couple other fellow classmates from Digital Design Class. This year for Create-A-Thon was very different from the first year in many ways. This year the students did not have to teach children from another school while also making art for the Create-A-Thon. The students also participated more in this one. All art was used in the global showcase at the Napa Lighted Art Festival. Last year's event was competition based. Schools from around the world participated, and submitted art for the global showcase too. I learned that we need to change a few things in the next year so we will be more prepared for the Create-A-Thon next year. I think that my favorite part of the Create-A-Thon was not the event itself, but seeing all of the artwork showcased on to the building. After the event ended, I learned that teaching is an incredibly hard thing to do, but I walked away with the skill of being reliable, and persistent with the programs when they were being troubling.
