For pilot week I have learned many things that happens in Napa. A week before I didn't even know what food insecurity meant. Today I am aware of everything I eat and how I can help people who have food insecurity. I think that pilot week helped me grow a lot. I don't think that it was well thought through, and there are many things we could improve. For a start Pilot week was beneficial. I really like setting out flyers to get peoples attention. I hope that the flyers will help recruit volunteers.

Food insecurity is being dealt with by food banks. I think that we should help food banks or donate to them in order to stop food insecurity. The efforts if the government was not very helpful. They are helping us though. I think the snap program should stay the same.
I think that we need six thousand pounds of food everyday to get rid of food insecurity. The graph helps show that there is about 5000 meals given out with 6000 pounds of food. I feel like math is a big component to food insecurity because there is so many people that are food insecure.
We have found an idea that can recruit volunteers. We have started our idea and making flyers. We are a working team and only can work for two hours on one day out of six days. We are proposing and working with the food bank to improve the food bank.
Today we asked questions and learned what we are going to do. We are going to volunteer and stock food. We will stack food and check for expiration dates. We will also help move around stuff that needs to be moved. We will make sure to stock food needed for the low income people. The problem we will be addressing is helping giving out food. To do this we will stock food and organize so the food is give out able. I hope our help will at least be able to feed people that need it.
